The Narraitive

Privacy Policy

Last updated June 10, 2026

Plain-language summary: we collect the minimum needed to run accounts and subscriptions, nothing loads for tracking until you consent, and we never sell personal data.

1. Who we are

The Narraitive (“we”) operates this website. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@thenarraitive.com.

2. Data we collect

Account data: email address and authentication identifiers when you create an account. Subscription data: plan status and a billing-provider customer reference; card numbers are handled by our payment processor (Stripe) and never touch our servers. Preferences: theme choice, saved articles, and cookie-consent decisions. Usage data (consent-based): anonymous analytics events, only if you opt in. Advertising data (consent-based): ad-serving cookies for free-tier readers, only if you opt in.

3. What we use it for

Operating sign-in and subscriptions; remembering preferences; measuring (in aggregate, with consent) which articles get read; serving ads to free-tier readers who consented. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use reader data to train AI models.

4. Legal bases (EU/UK readers)

Contract performance for accounts and billing; consent for analytics and advertising cookies; legitimate interest for security logging and fraud prevention.

5. Storage and processors

Account and preference data lives in Google Firebase (Auth and Firestore). Payments are processed by Stripe. Hosting is provided by Vercel. Each processor handles data under its own data-processing agreement.

6. Your rights

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@thenarraitive.com. EU/UK readers additionally have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Deleting your account removes profile and preference data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Cookies

Non-essential cookies stay off until you opt in via the consent banner, and you can change your decision at any time from Account → Settings. Details in the Cookie Policy.

8. Children

The Narraitive is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

Material changes to this policy will be announced on this page with an updated date, and—for account holders—by email when the change affects how we use your data.
